Keydesk
Hi -
I'm at work, and I thought you could catch a glimpse of me in the middle of my high-paced, action-packed work at the keydesk. Here it is:

Pretty exciting, huh? Look at the pleasantness. Eager and willing to help a music student at all times who is looking for the perfect room to hone their musicality, technique, and precision. Without me, the School of Music would fall, and crumble into a bunch of leaderless apes fighting and flinging poo at each other just to get a practice room with a grand piano. Tuba players scaling the sides of humanities. Bassoon players repelling into the courtyard. Ethnomusicology professors lecturing to microbiology majors held captive since no one will attend their classes.
Pure chaos.
So, here I remain, getting paid to listen to music and get yelled at by professors who think that regardless of the rules they should get the camera now because they need it.
Oh, and you're welcome.

Innate Racism
I found this on Andrew Sullivan's blog. Schoolkids chanting, "Assassinate Obama!" on the bus in Idaho.

Prop 8
Most of you have probably heard, but proposition 8 in California has passed, which bans gay marriage.
Where do I start? First of all, who decided that who marries who should be put on a ballot? It is exactly, and I emphasize exactly, parallel to my neighbors voting on if I, as a white person, should be allowed to marry an African American, or as an atheist/agnostic, marry a devout Catholic. Doesn't that sound ridiculous? That's because it is.
Secondly, does anyone else find the irony in Republicans/conservatives are always talking about having a smaller, reduced sized government, but are always in the thick of controlling the most private aspects of out lives (marriage and abortion come to the front of my mind). How can you honestly be against abortion, even in cases of rape and incest.
So, that's that. grr.

Wrong Predictions
Rush Limbaugh, interview with London Telegraph and on his radio program -- Oct. 31, 2008
To London Telegraph: "I think [Obama has] been dead in the water since the primaries. He is going to need to be up 10 to 12 points to win by 3 or 4 … Don't forget that Hillary winning was a foregone conclusion, too. If the polls had been right it would have been Giuliani versus Hillary. That's why polls a year out are worthless."
Here's some more funny.
Music in Iran
In an article I'm reading for my World Music History class:
According to my informants in Khorasan, the pasdaran (revolutionary guards) organized raids to collect and destroy musical instruments. Playing music was forbidden.
Non-Western music and traditions are very interesting.

Did you know Iranians don't even have a word equivalent to out word for music. But, for the sake of time, I'm not going to get into it--yet.
The Problem
One of my problems with Religion in Politics

To the comments I have just read: YOU need to read the Book of Revelation....all of it. What I saw was something close to idolizing a MAN. Not his smooth words but his past "talks" for it's self. There was a time in the 1930s when THAT nation thought that they had a leader that would lead them out of the hard times. It takes OPEN eyes to see what is truly taking place. This nation carries a national sin of killing unborn innocents and being "tolerant to sin" which has become politically correct. Being tolerant when it means letting people be lost to God their creator IS NOT LOVE! we are beginning to see the fall out...there is a God that will not be kind to this nation just because we started out with the intention of being a One Nation Under God..(that meant following His Word and being a light for the lost) Read the Bible: He gave us a commission to STAND and keep on standing and not sit while God's enemy has worked to deceive. Shame on us all!

Oh, Never Mind
I've decided it's not worth making list, aforementioned in the post below. It only fans the flame.
Here's a question (to all readers I clearly have). Who does the Republican Party represent anymore aside from the rich, religious, and afraid?

Coming Soon!
In the moments immediately following the naming of Barack Obama the new president elect, I spent a lot of time checking status updates on Facebook and reading people's reactions. It was quite immature.
In the very near future, you can expect a compiled list of random content-less insults based over the election and politics, mostly via Facebook.
In other news, this humors me:

Stupid people on the internet
This is silly. In my first post, talking about no hate speech, this is just an example.
There is absolutely zero content here.
Unbelievable.

Impromptu Party

I was there. It was amazing and inspirational. There was singing and cheering. And to think, all of it took place in a part of the country that McCain and Palin don't think matter.

An Introduction
Hello.
Congratulations to you! You're reading my first ever blog post (Xanga doesn't count). This here will become a compilations of my own personal stories which will probably be sincerely boring, and my own personal thoughts, which will probably be political. It was the recent elections and the reaction to the new president elect which inspired me create another vehicle towards procrastination and poor grades.
Some blue thoughts:
I align myself with the Democratic party, and have yet to vote for a non-Democrat in any race, thus the title of this blog. However, I do not title myself as a Democrat, due to the fact that I believe myself more liberal than most (all) of the elected officials of said party.
In this blog I hope to bring up a range of political issues and try to talk/speak/type/debate them as rationally as possible. I also hope to hear from people who disagree with my thoughts since every one is entitled to an opinion, and I am not here to create another hateful weblog. That being said, all of your opinions are welcome here, minus hate speech and blatant insults based on no grounds or facts. I also suggest that if you cite your sources. If you want to prove a point, post a link, or somewhere I can research. Hopefully this is a learning experience for all.
Once again welcome, and congratulations.
